Vidu Q4 Image to Video Generator
Upload one frame and let Vidu Q4 animate it into a 3-16 second clip with synchronized sound and up to 4K output. The workbench handles uploads, prompt expansion, and handoff to the full studio.
Why Vidu Q4 for image to video
Vidu Q4 Preview is a flagship image-conditioned video model. The image keeps the scene, and the prompt directs motion, camera, and mood.
One frame, real motion
A single image becomes a 3-16 second clip. Vidu Q4 infers scene physics and camera movement from your prompt.
Synchronized audio
Ambience, effects, and lip-matched speech are generated in the same pass as the picture. No separate audio step.
Prompt expansion
Enable prompt expansion and Vidu Q4 automatically enriches short prompts with cinematic detail.
540p drafts to 4K finals
Iterate cheaply at 540p, then render the keeper at up to 4K without changing tools.
How it works
From upload to finished clip in three steps.
Upload your start frame
One image is enough: product shots, portraits, concept art, or a frame from another clip.
Describe motion and camera
Write the movement, camera path, and mood. Pick duration (3-16s), resolution up to 4K, and whether to include audio.
Generate and download
Submit the job, watch progress in the workbench, then preview and download the clip.
Image-to-video vs reference-to-video
Both Vidu Q4 modes are image-conditioned. Pick based on how many assets you have.
| Image to Video | Reference to Video | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Inputs | 1 start image | Up to 12 reference images + 3 audio refs | |
| Aspect ratio | Follows the source frame | Choose 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 | |
| Consistency goal | Animate what is in the frame | Keep identity stable across shots | |
| Best for | Quick animations, product motion, mood clips | Series content, recurring characters, ads |
Both modes produce 3-16 second clips at up to 4K with optional native audio.
What creators use it for
Product motion
Turn a hero product shot into a moving ad frame: light sweeps, steam, camera push-ins.
Portrait & character shots
Animate a still portrait with subtle motion and lip-synced lines powered by native audio.
Concept art to scene
Bring matte paintings and concept art to life as establishing shots and mood clips.
Social clips
Animate memes, covers, and thumbnails into short loops for feeds.
Limits to know
Honest constraints from the published Vidu Q4 Preview spec.
One input image
Image-to-video takes a single start frame. For multi-image identity control, use reference-to-video.
Aspect ratio follows the image
The output keeps the source frame's ratio. Choose a fixed ratio in reference-to-video mode instead.
Clip length 3-16s
Clips are short by design. Extend narratives by chaining shots in an editor.
Credits-based pricing
Generation cost scales with duration and resolution. The workbench shows the exact credit cost before you submit. Plans and credit packs are on the pricing page.
Image-to-video FAQ
How many images do I need?
Just one start frame. If you need a character to stay consistent across multiple shots, switch to reference-to-video with up to 12 reference images.
Can I pick the aspect ratio?
Image-to-video follows your source image's ratio automatically. For a fixed canvas (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4), use reference-to-video mode.
Does Vidu Q4 generate audio too?
Yes, synchronized ambience, effects, and speech in the same pass. Turn off the audio option for silent clips.
What resolution can I export?
540p, 720p, 1080p, 2K, or 4K. Higher resolutions cost more credits per second.
Is this the official Vidu site?
No. vidu-q4.com is an independent third-party workbench for Vidu Q4 Preview and is not affiliated with Vidu or ShengShu Technology.
